How the shared cost model works.
Sales by Auction or Tender
Save money before you even bid.
We use AI to predict how many bidders are likely to buy the report based on the property's type and features. We then set one fair, fixed price and make the report available to all bidders.
Because everyone shared the cost, you save hundreds ordering your reports through BuyersRep.
And if you're the winning bidder, you can obtain legal reliance to the report for a small fee - meaning you can step into your house with confidence.
For other methods of sale
We're working on a shared-cost model for all other methods of sale, which will be ready soon.
In the meantime, you're welcome to access our network of accredited inspectors. We'll arrange the inspection and pass on the costs at our negotiated rate, with no added margin.
For these sales type, the report will be addressed directly to you and will not be made available to others.
And you will
always get...
Trusted, independent and affiliated inspectors
- All of the inspectors on or platform are BOINZ, NZIBI or NZIBS affiliated.
- We check that each inspector has appropriate levels of Professional Indemnity insurance.
- We represent buyers. Buyers choose an inspector from our panel and BuyersRep acts as an independent intermediary.
A Report that aligns with NZ Standards
- All our inspectors follow the New Zealand Standard for Residential Property Inspections (NZS 4306:2005) — an industry-recognised benchmark developed by Standards New Zealand.
- This means you get a comprehensive visual inspection of the property, inside and out, carried out according to clear, nationally recognised guidelines.

Pre-Purchase Building Inspection
This is a detailed, room-by-room check of the home based on the NZ Standard for Residential Property Inspections (NZS 4306:2005). It looks at all the key areas like the roof, walls, floors, windows, and doors. The inspector also checks for signs of leaks, moisture, cracks, or any visible structural issues. You ll get a clear picture of the property s overall condition – helping you avoid nasty surprises after you buy.

Asbestos Testing
This report checks if any part of the home contains asbestos, which was commonly used in older building materials. An inspector looks at places like ceilings, walls, roofing, and flooring to see if there’s anything that could pose a health risk. It’s especially useful if you’re planning to renovate or buy an older home.

Meth (P) Testing
This test checks whether methamphetamine (P) has been used or made in the house. The inspector takes surface swabs from different areas and sends them to a lab for testing. It helps you make sure the home is safe for you and your family to move into.
